Social Development reiterates dedication to increasing SASSA financial support

Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her assist and motivation to increasing South African Social Security Company (SASSA) providers through an engagement together with the agency's senior professionals at a strategic organizing session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the various social grant beneficiaries, who excelled from the 2024 matric exams.
On the 724 156 full-time learners who registered to the National Senior Certification (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, representing 81% from the registered pupils inside the instruction sector.
These learners achieved a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This means the investment national government is earning from the lives of bad and susceptible children is yielding a favourable impact in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe said.
Reflecting on current achievements, the Minister highlighted critical milestones and ongoing priorities. She dedicated to urgently addressing the issue of permanent leadership appointments and the lack of staff at most local offices.
